On December 3, 2025, the 1st Global Forum on Regenerative Tourism was held in Bandung, Indonesia, organized by the Indonesian University of Education (UPI). This international academic event serves as a major platform dedicated to shaping a new paradigm of tourism focused on restoration, revitalization, and long-term sustainable development.

Chirchik State Pedagogical University was represented at the forum by Kudratbek Makhmudov, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, who participated online as a Keynote Speaker with his presentation titled “Intercultural Communication Competence as a Catalyst for Regenerative Tourism.”

In his address, Dr. Makhmudov emphasized that the advancement of regenerative tourism relies not only on ecological and economic mechanisms, but also on cultural harmony, language competence, and communication grounded in mutual respect. Drawing on examples from CSPU’s educational practices, he demonstrated the scientific and practical significance of developing intercultural communication competence for fostering responsible and sustainable tourism.

The forum covered the following major thematic areas:
• regenerative tourism and sustainable development
• tourism education and capacity building
• consumer behavior and travel experiences
• technology and digital transformation in tourism
• food and gastronomic tourism
• crises, disasters, and tourism resilience
• tourism policy and governance
• tourism economics, management, and entrepreneurship

The event brought together scholars from Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, and several other countries to exchange insights on the theory and practice of regenerative tourism. CSPU’s participation further strengthened the university’s engagement in international academic cooperation and sustainable tourism development.
