🎓 Day 3 of the International Summer School at CSPU Focused on Practical Research Activities

The third day of the international summer school, organized at Chirchik State Pedagogical University in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for the German Language (Leibniz-Institut für Deutsche Sprache, IDS, Mannheim, Germany), was successfully conducted in accordance with the programme.

📅 On April 15, 2026, the sessions focused on grammatical terminology, language variation, and empirically based approaches to linguistic analysis.

🎤 Within the course led by Professor Christian Lang, participants explored:

• the use of grammatical terminology in German language teaching;
• so-called “Zweifelsfälle” (problematic language cases);
• the relationship between language norms, variation, and language change.

📚 During the practical sessions:

• participants worked with major German corpora such as DeReKo and DGD;
• conducted corpus-based analyses to resolve linguistic uncertainties;
• applied empirical methods to real language data.

📊 In the second half of the day, under the guidance of Professor Roman Schneider, a data collection session was organized on the topic of functional approaches to grammar. Participants actively engaged in:

• short written and oral tasks;
• interviews and linguistic experiments;
• empirical data collection for ongoing research projects.

🎓 In addition, participants received individual academic consultations and guidance on their research interests and future projects.
