This conference is dedicated to green chemistry, sustainable development, environmental safety, innovative educational technologies, and the preparation of future educators through modern pedagogical approaches. The conference will provide a platform for presenting scientific research findings, sharing best practices, and exchanging views on current challenges and emerging issues in these fields.
This international conference is dedicated to the integrated examination of some of the most pressing areas of contemporary science, including green chemistry, environmental safety, the concept of sustainable development, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
Particular attention will be given to the “Teacher of the Future” concept as a distinct scientific and methodological approach. Within this framework, special emphasis will be placed on developing future teachers’ environmental literacy, innovative thinking, digital competencies, and ability to integrate the principles of sustainable development into educational practice.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to highlight some of the achievements our university has made within a relatively short period of time.
Chirchik State Pedagogical University was established pursuant to Resolution No. PQ-3152 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated July 27, 2017.
Since the initial stage of the university's development, a strategic development concept for 2025–2030 has been adopted, incorporating priority initiatives such as “PTIK,” “Individualized Education,” “The Third Teacher,” and “Teacher of the Future.” These initiatives are aimed at establishing a modern pedagogical university and facilitating its integration into the international scientific and educational community.
At the Faculty of Natural Sciences, particular attention is being paid to modernizing the educational process and developing students' practical skills. Educational activities organized according to the “I Heard – I Saw – I Did” principle have been introduced as one of the faculty's key pedagogical approaches.
This principle aims to reinforce students' theoretical knowledge, develop their ability to conduct experiments independently in laboratory settings, and prepare them for practical professional activities. In this way, the effectiveness of competency-based education is being enhanced.
Furthermore, in order to advance scientific research and innovation, the Department of Chemistry is conducting comprehensive scientific and methodological activities in the field of “Integrating Education for Sustainable Development Concepts into Chemistry Teaching.”
The department has established research activities in the following principal areas:
- Synthesis of polymeric sorbents and investigation of their physicochemical properties.
- Synthesis of biologically active organic compounds and investigation of their biological activities.
- Development of technologies for producing water-saving interpolymer complex materials based on phosphogypsum.
These research activities contribute to the development of environmentally safe chemical processes, the implementation of resource-efficient technologies, and the integration of sustainable development principles into education and scientific research.
Modern scientific laboratories have been established within the Department of Chemistry, operating in the following areas:
- Laboratory of Inorganic and Organic Polymer Chemistry.
- Laboratory of Polymer Composite Materials and Interpolymer Complexes.
- Laboratory of Organic Chemistry and Synthesis of Biologically Active Compounds.
These laboratories are equipped with modern scientific instruments and facilities to support students' research activities and the scientific work of academic staff.
Field Practice and Scientific Research Center
To integrate educational and scientific research activities with industrial practice, a Field Practice and Scientific Research Center has been established at the faculty.
The center performs the following key functions:
- Developing students' practical skills under real-world conditions.
- Integrating scientific experiments with industrial environments.
- Conducting practical testing of innovative projects.
- Aligning scientific research outcomes with the needs of the real economy.
Through the activities of this center, students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, and competencies in designing innovative solutions.
Today, education systems worldwide are undergoing a profound transformation. Global climate change, the rapid development of digital technologies, emerging requirements for educational quality, and increasing environmental and social challenges are creating a need for fundamentally new approaches to education.
In this context, the concepts of the green economy and sustainable development are becoming significant not only as environmental priorities but also as important drivers of innovative competency development within education systems.
Under these circumstances, preparing future educators who possess environmental literacy, digital proficiency, and innovative thinking skills has become one of the strategic priorities of contemporary education.
In particular, improving educational quality, developing students' independent thinking skills, and strengthening their practical competencies are of crucial importance.
At the same time, research focusing on the effective use of digital educational resources, the development of environmental awareness, and the integration of sustainable development principles into pedagogical practice is becoming an increasingly important area of international scientific cooperation.
It should be emphasized that the Republic of Uzbekistan is also implementing consistent reforms aimed at modernizing its education system, introducing innovative pedagogical technologies on a broader scale, and developing a digital educational environment.
The scientific presentations and practical recommendations to be delivered at this international conference are expected to contribute to improving educational quality, advancing innovative pedagogical technologies, and further developing a modern education system oriented towards sustainable development.
