Research Directions

The Department of Geography conducts research activities in several strategic areas. The following directions aim to carry out scientific research that meets modern educational requirements, expand cooperation with national and international scientific communities, and achieve practical outcomes:

👥
Modern issues of population geography and demography: focused on studying population size, dynamics, distribution, age and gender structure, ethnic, national and religious composition, population change, birth and death rates, natural and mechanical growth, migration processes and influencing factors, reproduction of population and labor resources, and employment issues (Sh. Qurbonov, F. Dusmanov).
🌾
Improving the territorial organization of agricultural sectors: aimed at assessing natural and socio-economic geographic factors influencing the specialization and development of agricultural sectors, and studying their impact on the territorial organization of crop farming and livestock breeding (F. Rajabov, J. Namozov).
🌍
Research in physical geography: focused on the development of physical geography in the country, morphostructure of basins, changes in lower river courses under anthropogenic influence, and improvement of land reclamation conditions (A. Urazbayev, Sh. Ibroimov).
🧳
Geographical aspects of tourism and recreational development: aimed at studying geographical problems and prospects of developing domestic and international tourism in Uzbekistan based on natural and historical-cultural tourism and recreation resources (Sh. Qurbonov, L. Djurayeva).
📚
Modern methods of teaching geography: focused on improving contemporary pedagogical technologies used in teaching geography courses (O. Abdimurodov, S. Djumaboyeva).
💧
Economic-geographical aspects of irrigated land use: studies the economic and geographical characteristics of irrigated land use from the perspective of agricultural development (J. Namozov).
