These days, soil salinization is a major issue. Over 80% of fields that are irrigated are salinized. Applying mineral fertilizers to salty soils is not advised. Due to salinization, or the mineralization of soil, fertilizers are saline. Furthermore, mineral fertilizers in saline soils not only exacerbate the stress effect on plants, but are also absorbed by them.
